kMeteo updated to version 0.9
kMeteo has just been updated to version 0.9.
I've fixed a mistake i ve make in the 0.8 version where the notification aren't registered after a reset due to two line swapped in the source code. It's result that sheduled update don't work after a reset (like a NVBackup save).
I've also fixed an other bug, when you try to make a search without text in the search field in 0.8 it ll crash the palm. It's now fixed.
Thanks to all people which have report me this two errors.

I’m sorry but i don’t use a windows or mac, i’m a linux user … so creating conduit is difficult to do when we don’t own the system and the developpment tool. But if someone want to do one, kMeteo is Open Source.

your last post worried me: arn’t you creating conduit for hotsync use anymore? 8i have read somewhere that hotsync conduit would be ready in the version 0.9)

I’m having a lot of problems trying to get the City Search feature working. When I enter a city name in City Search, it looks like what’s being returned is the temperature data instead of the actual city code. For example When I tried looking up New York, NY:
[][] N/A[][] 56…
I also tried it without the comma, and also spelling out New York instead of NY, but always had the same results. I looked up the city code through the Weather Channel and entered it in and things worked fine, but it would be nice if the City Search worked instead.

- Conduit isn’t developped at this time. But i’ll try to do my best to do it.
- I ll try to fix the city search feature for the next update.

- City Code for new york is USNY0996
i’ve just do a search on new york on weather.com and extract the city code from the url.

En version française dans A propos c’est kMeteo 0.8 qui apparait alors qu’en version anglaise About fait apparaître kMeteo 0.9…
Même probléme que Kim pour la ville de Valenciennes…
La ville de Saint-Quentin est sélectionné, les vues s’affichent (masque) mais sans informations…
J’ai compris cela se produit lorsque je renomme FRXX… en Saint-Quentin dans e masque Préférences.
Je viens de refaire la manip avec Lille.

try update data
(data dont collected…)

Hi, kMeteo is great. It´s nice from you to work on it so updates are published very often…GREAT! I just have the problem that kMeteo don´t shows the max. temperatur of the actually date…
Just n idea: do you know how famous you can become if you make kLauncher Open Source? OK, you have to earn some money, clearly. But think of donations…THX

kMeteo is very nice. I like all the existing and new features. Thank you very much for this software — it continues to get better with each update. :)
One problem I have with my Palm TX (since version 6): If I enable Auto Sync Time, kMeteo connects to WiFi and updates, but auto-off appears to be disabled. My Palm TX remains on after the update until I turn it off with the power button. The ‘Disconnect’ option disconnects the WiFi, but the TX remains turned on.

kMeteo seems to disable auto-off anytime I use it — not just with Auto Sync Time. Simply turning off my TX and turning it back on seems to restore the auto-off.
Also, my TX soft reset a couple of times while using kMeteo, but I have not determined any pattern to the problems and don’t know if it is kMeteo or something else. If I get more information, I’ll post again, unless you’d prefer email.

Renommer les villes n’est pas possible pour le moment. Quand à un ordre pour le moment il faut les rentrer dans l’ordre souhaité. J’ajouterai la possibilité de changer l’ordre.
Fraguas > Maybe a problem with the weather.com webservice. Are you able to connect with blazer ? What is the city code of the city wich you try to get the weather ?

“But think of donations…THX”, yes but i never get any donation for kMeteo, or other freeware i’ve made in the past for mac. Asking money for a software permit me to get some return on my different bought i made to developping and testing. At the beginning, kMeteo was just an addon for kLauncher.
Jigwashere >You are the first person to report me this problem, i use kMeteo on tx too. And have no problem with the auto-off. Could you list me the application installed on your Palm. I think it may come from a conflict with an other app.For more informations, you can post it here or by mail, as you prefer.

Yes, I agree it could be a conflict with an app or perhaps some preferences setting. I have many apps and Desk Accessories (DAs) on my TX, perhaps too many to list (sorry). I don’t have time right now, but I have thought about doing a hard reset and reinstalling everythihng. At a minimum, I could hard reset, test kMeteo, then restore with NVBackup. At least then I could report how kMeteo works on a clean TX. I’ll try to do that tonight.

J’effectue les mises à jour pour Lille, Saint-Quentin et Paris.
Et ce n’est pas la température de l’après-midi mais la température max qui n’apparait pas quand je fais la mise à jour l’après-midi (d’où ma conclusion un peu hative…)
Et en allant sur le site http://fr.weather.com les températures sont indiqués…

Hi,
Great application! Thanks for all your hard work! I have one request for the next version. If possible, I would like the city name to be displayed either in the pick list or in the weather report results, so I know which city’s weather report I am viewing. I have more than one city entered for both Massachusetts and Pennsylvania and it is difficult to remember which weather code belongs to which city.

Great application for free!
About the only two items I would like to see offered are:
1) Conduit
2) Show the text that is brought back, so it says for example, Today: “Scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 82F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40%.” This information is available on the weather.com website already, so it shouldn’t be a problem to add it, right?

Hey Khertan, is there a way you could also download radar images into the application? That would come in really useful to me, as I depend on what the radar says on a day to day basis for my job!

hi, thanks for a great program, a few things though:
* “tendancy” should be “tendency”
* the date format is only MM/DD/YY, can you add an option for either DD/MM/YY (UK style) or YYYY-MM-DD (ISO style, unambiguous)?
* could the city selector at the top be right-justified instead of centred? as it is it is in the same place as the second menu when activated.
* the source of the data isn’t clear, either on your website or in the program (weather.com?)
* I don’t like the 10 day view, it is too much information for one screen and 10 day forecasts aren’t very useful. Could there be an option for a 5 day forecast?

on a cple of ocassions, I had problem retrieving data:
search for city code worked 100%, but, retrieving data when NOT networked, would invoke network, then, kill network…
starting network 1st, then running update worked better
